SHOWROOM
We maintain a showroom in Fairfield, Connecticut, where you can meet with an event rental consultant and choose items to customize your event. While we are open for walk-ins, we ask that you make an appointment in advance for us to be able to give you our undivided attention.
DELIVERY AND PICKUP
Rentals are typically delivered one to two days prior to your event, and picked up one to days after your event. Regular delivery rates are Monday - Friday, 9:00AM to 5:00PM in-season and 9:00AM to 4:00PM off-season. Requests outside of business hours will be an additional fee, as is specific time stops, weekend delivery and pickups, and late night pickups. On-delivery rentals are left outside or on a front/back porch or patio. We do not make calls with delivery arrival times. The client may call the morning of for a 2-3 hour window.
Our warehouse in Fairfield, Connecticut offers customer pickup and return for customers with smaller orders and those with the proper vehicle/team. Certain items cannot be picked up or returned by customers due to assembly or special handling requirements. Please contact your Event Rental Consultant for details and assistance.

TENT INSTALLATIONS
A team of Event Installation Specialists coordinates and manages the successful installation of complex, multi-departmental, multi-vendor events. Your salesperson will bring our team into the planning process when requested. Our team works closely with everyone to understand the scope of the project and your expectations. We manage the production schedule and venue expectations during the load-in phase of your event by coordinating delivery teams, installations teams, and styling teams.
STANDBY MAN ON PREMISES
Our team can provide a qualified member of our team to remain on site during your event to handle any tent-related issues. The Standby Man is there for you throughout the event. They can help with general problems caused by inclement weather, power outages, heat or air conditioning, or changes or additions to side walls.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
In Connecticut, you will need to contact Call Before You Dig at 811 or (800) 922-4455. This call should be made no later than three days prior to your installation and is the client’s responsibility. Abbey Tent & Party Rentals is not responsible for any damage to underground utilities.

- LINENS: Shake off all food and debris and return in clear plastic bags.
- CHINA: Scrape all food, rinse and return to designated crate.
- GLASSWARE: Empty liquids and return to designated crate.
- FLATWARE: Scrape all food and debris and return to designated crate.
- TABLES & CHAIRS: Breakdown and stack for pickup by driver.

RENTAL TERMS & CONDITIONS
In reference to to leasing the rental item(s) / equipment described on the Rental Agreement, is it agreed as follows:

LINEN

INDEMNITY/HOLD HARMLESS
Customer will take all necessary precautions regarding the items rented, and protect all persons and property from injury or damage. Customer agrees to hold Abbey harmless from and against any and all liability, claims, judgements, attorney's fees and costs of every kind and nature, including, but not limited to, injuries or death to persons and damage of property, arising out of the use, maintenance- installation, operation, possession, ownership, or rental of the items rented, despite cause.
POSSESSION/TITLE
Abbey agrees to reserve all items listed in the Rental Agreement on behalf of the Customer only after the following have been received from the customer.
UNSAFE CONDITIONS
Abbey Tent & Party Rentals reserves the right to refuse to install or deliver rental equipment due to unsafe conditions or weather. If this occurs, Customer will be liable for a minimum of fifty percent (50%) of the total cost specified in the rental agreement. In the absence of unsafe weather or other conditions, Abbey Tent & Party Rentals will use all appropriate means and methods to secure the rental equipment for the safety of the Customer and the equipment. Tents are temporary structures and could possibly collapse during severe rain, snow, or windstorm. Evacuation of tents in high winds, storms or extreme lightning is recommended. You agree in the event of a predicted or actual storm or excessive winds, we may dismantle any previously installed rented Tents and related items to ensure safety of all persons involved. Customer assumes all weather related risks involved in holding an outdoor tented event.
Abbey Tent & Party Rentals is not responsible for underground utilities, and charges for time out, whether equipment is used or not. If permission is granted by the Customer to stake anything into the ground at their desired location, then is is the sole responsibility of the Customer to check for underground utilities and water mains.
CANCELLATIONS
All customers will provide a fifty percent (50%) non-refundable deposit in order for Abbey to reserve their order.

Abbey may asses additional charges at a rate of up to one hundred and twenty ($120) dollars per hour when delivery conditions cause Abbey to incur additional labor costs, including, but not limited to:

All china and flatware must be rinsed reasonably free of any food debris. Linens must be free of debris and dry. Additionally, Customer is responsible for any loss or damage to rental items regardless of cause or fault, including acts of God, and Abbey has seventy two (72) hours after retaking or receiving possession of rented merchandise to assess its condition and determine whether damage occurred while it was in possession of the renter.
In such instances, the Customer agrees to pay Abbey for:

DISCOUNTS
Abbey may offer discounts at its sole discretion. Any violation by the customer of Abbey's rental contract or Terms and Conditions including violation of payment terms will make such discounts null and void.

CANCELLATIONS
All customers will provide a fifty percent (50%) non-refundable deposit in order for Abbey to reserve their order.
- Customers who cancel their orders at any time after a deposit is provided will lose their deposit regardless of circumstances or reasons for cancellation.
- Adjustments to orders can be made until seven (7) days prior to delivery (except for specialty items - see below). However, any such adjustments shall not reduce the total price of the invoice below the amount of the non-refundable fifty percent (50%) deposit.
- Specialty items include items that require Abbey to manufacture, sub-rent, or purchase. Specialty items are non-refundable once they have been ordered by Abbey, or manufacturing of such items has begun. Tents and heaters must be canceled at least seven (7) days prior to delivery, but any such adjustments shall not reduce the total price of the invoice below the amount of the non-refundable fifty percent (50%) deposit.
CUSTOMER PICKUP & RETURN
- Customers may pay C.O.D, but once the rental agreement is signed the customer guarantees payment for the equipment reserved.
- Abbey will reserve will call/pickup orders only if a rental agreement agreement has been signed. If the customer fails to pickup their will call order on the specified date, then Abbey may re-rent the equipment; or if the equipment goes unrented then Abbey may still collect a minimum of fifty percent (50%) from the customer.
- Responsibility for customer pickup rental items remains with the customer from the time the items leave the Rental Center until the time they are returned.
- The Customer is responsible for loading, unloading and securing items within their vehicle as well as for any damage that they may suffer during those operations.
- Abbey will assist the customer in loading, but Abbey will not be held liable for traffic accidents or damages to vehicles or rental equipment in transit due to improper loading.
- Items returned after the return date specified in the Rental Agreement will incur additional fees to be determined by Abbey.
DELIVERY CHARGES
- Minimum delivery chargers are based on a one to four (1-4) hour delivery window with "non-same-day" pickups. Same day and or late evening pickups can be arranged for additional charges.
- Customers must be present for their entire delivery window. Abbey will grant a fifteen (15) minute grace period, after which the customer will be charged for waiting time up to one hundred and twenty dollars ($120.00) per hour billed in fifteen (15) minute increments.
- Orders will be delivered only if the cost of the items rented, excluding delivery fees and labor is at least two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00).
- Abbey offers setup and breakdown services of equipment for additional charges.
- "Curbside Delivery" is defined as:
- Delivery to a ground level location on a flat, hard surface, within twenty five (25) feet of the nearest loading area with no steps or obstructions.
- Abbey will stack items neatly and securely with reasonable access for the Customer.
- All equipment must be re-stacked and made ready for pickup by the Customer in the same manner in which it was delivered.
- There will be a minimum two (2) hour window for both delivery and pickup (unless otherwise arranged in writing with Abbey).
Abbey may asses additional charges at a rate of up to one hundred and twenty ($120) dollars per hour when delivery conditions cause Abbey to incur additional labor costs, including, but not limited to:
- deliveries impeded by stairs, elevators, steep or uneven surfaces, standing water, mud or soft surfaces like sand or loose gravel;
- deliveries that involve waiting times of more than fifteen (15) minutes;
- customer requires a precise (to within fifteen (15) minutes) delivery or pickup time;
- last minute or rush deliveries or pickups; and/or;
- inaccurate delivery locations or directions supplied by the Customer.
- Chairs and tables can be set up and arranged to the Customer's predetermined specification for an additional charge. Setup is mandatory and carries separate setup charges for some items such as: dance floors, stages and canopies. If setup is requested, then Abbey will perform one (1) setup. After the initial setup is completed, then Abbey may opt to apply the aforementioned excessive labor charges, or they may opt to leave the premises without performing additional labor.
- If the renter is not available, than Abbey may opt to either setup in a manner deemed appropriate by our staff, or we may opt to leave the equipment curbside. In such instances, no refunds will be given, and the customer accepts liability for any losses and damages that may happen to equipment left unsupervised for any reason, including acts of God.

- All labor costs associated with repair and/or attempted repair of damaged equipment.
- Replacement equipment (if necessary).
- Replacement of equipment directly related to the normal quality and functionality of the damaged equipment.
- All shipping or delivery fees associated with the replacement or repair of damaged equipment.
MEASURING EVENT AREA
- Abbey Tent & Party Rentals provides complimentary on-site estimates whenever possible.
- Planning and measuring is ultimately the responsibility of the Customer. If poor planning leads to improperly measured areas for placement of canopies, stages, dance floors, etc., resulting in our inability to complete a job, then no refunds will be given and full payment will be made to Abbey by the Customer.
- Abbey will not be held liable for any planning not performed by our staff.
- The Customer is responsible for locating and pointing out any underground utilities, such as water mains, and gas, electrical, and sewage lines. Abbey will not be liable for any damages caused there to. Customer is to provide a suitable surface for tent installation. Abbey will not assume any liability for damage caused by staking i.e. holes, cracks or any other surface or subsurface damages arising out of the installation or dismantling of a rented tent.
